Connie Hosier is retired from the Humanities Department at Parkland College where she taught film studies for over 20 years. Her movie interests include issues of race, gender, and class in addition to narrative structures, film theory, and film form techniques. The weekly movie critic for WEFT 90.1 FM, Connie frequently reviews what is screening at the Art Theatre located in downtown Champaign. Her previous OLLI film classes include Representation of Women in Early Cinema, Race, Gender, and Class in Movies of the 1950’s, and John Ford Beyond the Western. A student in her most recent course noted, “Connie brought such great new perspectives to these films; and of course, the films were fabulous.”
